This class is done 100% in English (and with cheap jokes). Normally, this class is about half Japanese students and half students from other countries.

(1) There will be TWO papers submitted for scores this term. One is supporting a statement with examples, another is supporting an opinion with reasons. These ARE different!!

(2) Of course, we will write the papers in a step by step process. When you do a little at a time, the writing process becomes easier.

(3) Your final score in class comes about 50% from the papers you write, and the other 50% comes from doing the homework and in class participation.

(4) Because of the shortened semester, the syllabus is a bit different than what appears on the Mie University UNIPA page. (Hint: It will be easier.)

Don't worry, I'll explain everything in week one and we'll all do OK.

FINALLY, AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, YOU WILL NEED:

(A) THE TEXTBOOK!!!!! "Writers at Work: The Short Composition" by Ann Strauch, ISBN-13: 978-0521544962
You don't need an "online pack", just the textbook. If you took this class in Spring, you already have it. I use the same textbook in Spring and Fall terms, but different parts.
